Details:
After a long summer without stars, the northern lights have finally returned even here in Tromsø at 70 degrees north. Tonights display was so strong that, although constellations such as Cassiopeia are still only to be made out very faintly on the blue night sky, the aurorae shimmered and danced in an explosion of colours tonight!

Nikon D800, AF-S Nikkor 14-24 mm, ISO 640, ca 1-2 sec.
