Details:
A faint aurora appears on the northern horizon along with some of the most intense air glow display Ive even seen. The bands were easily seen naked eye and moved throughout the night.

Hey, where do you check for most recent updates to check for aurora. I mean the solar activity etc. I am new of this so just needed help on how to hunt this near new england region (Boston, Cape cod, Maine, Ne Hampshire)

http://spaceweather.com Then click on the Spaceweather Alerts on the right and sign up for emails also on the left are the Current Conditions for sunspots, NLCs etc.
You can also check the Sky and Telescope and Astronomy Today websites and Science.nasa.gov for great info...
Have fun there is a lot of wonderful info to be found...
