Details:
The Perseids put on a good show Thursday night, Aug 11, under mostly clear skies from southern Saskatchewan in Grasslands National Park, a dark sky preserve. While the meteors were the main attraction, a dim aurora did kick up, too. But the sky was also filled with bands of green airglow that were bright enough to see naked eye as diffuse glows across the sky. I had never seen airglow naked eye before. But the camera showed them to be slowly moving green bands of classic airglow. This is a composite of 10 exposures looking due north.
