Details:
First Auroras of 2017! We spent a great deal of time on the night of 12/31/16 looking for holes in the sky as we saw activity from the recent solar wind kicking up. The weather on Earth didnt cooperate as much, but we were successful at a few different locations around Tromso. This is my fourth time here in Norway hunting Auroras, and the first for my girlfriend Tara Tomlinson who helped take some of the photos. Later I asked her to marry me and she said Yes! It was truly a special night I will never forget, even if the Aurora viewing was brief and hard to come by.

We shot them on a Canon 5D Mark IV with a 8-15 f/4L Fisheye lens and Canon 6D with a 24 f/1.4L II lens
