Details:
There were bright green and yellowish auroras to the north but this one (most probably proton arc) was light purple and off to the northwest. It was arcing across the whole sky and ending on the east horizon between Arcturus and Jupiter. It lasted for about 20 mins. Canon 5D Mark II with 40 mm Canon lens, 20 s exp. at ISO-1600.
