Details:
There was a pretty cool planetary alignment this morning. All four rocky planets in our solar system are captured in the frame below. Top center is Venus and below the crescent moon illuminated in earth shine, is Mars and Mercury, and of course, Earth is seen in the foreground. Also seen between Venus at the top and the moon is the four star system Regulus which lies ~79 light years from Earth. (Planetary alignment with Donner Lake in the foreground and Truckee, CA, in the background, 09/18/2017.)
