Details:
In the smokey sky from the deadly California fires, we observed the Vandenberg Air Force Base launch of SpaceX/Iridium 3 from Dublin, CA. We were able to see the staging of the Falcon 9 and one of the Stage 1 burns that occurred prior to its landing on a barge in the Pacific Ocean. This is the composite of 54 five-second exposures. Later, morning twilight showed the exhaust plume that had been twisted about by the upper-level winds.
Launch Details: Canon 6D, Sigma 24mm lens, f/4, ISO-400, 5 second exposures. Plume Details: Samsung Galaxy S7.
