Third night of the last autumn tour of the season for Lights Over Lapland in Abisko. We had storms the first two nights and the KP score was showing between 0 and 1. As soon as we left the Lodge we had a good high band of aurora and by 20:20 we had the first corona. Then at 21:15 it went completely crazy with vivid greens and pinks. Totally not what we expecting to see with the KP score as it was. We have just been looking at the Kiruna magnetometer at it did go locally to KP7 so it just goes to show how the geomagnetic activity can be much more localised than expected.
