Waiting for the solar wind I went out around 23:30 hrs. On December 16th, 2017 and I did have a glimpse of the lights but in an hour clouds moved in and forced me to retreat. Around 02:30 hrs. December 17th, 2017 I went out to take the garbage and to my surprise the sky was clear with no clouds whatsoever. I checked the data and the solar wind was increasing and Bz was promising with his head down orientated south. As soon as I got on location the lights started slowly to build up and at apex of the show the lights were so bright that the ground turned green….So with this earlier arrival of the solar wind, Kakwa area got the honor to be able to enjoy again the Aurora Borealis and also appear that I got “Steve” in few frames, which is head to head with Milky Way and talking about the Universe…..Brilliant night out there (December 17th 2017 – Kakwa Alberta, Canada - Nikon D810, Nikkor 14-24mm 2.8, ISO 3200 & 5000; 4 &10 seconds exposure; 14mm;)
