Not a lot of bright aurora during the night mostly just pale green bands. Then starting at 6AM AST and lasting just over a hour there was a band of puffy looking aurora in the southern sky. This is the first time I have observed this type of formation and it reminded me of mammatus cloud formations. Towards the end of the display the small puffs were merging into a more solid formation.
