Practicing for the solar eclipse last summer, I took these photos with my Nikon d5500 with a 55-200mm lens. Raw files are available, these have been adjusted for clarity in lightroom,not photoshopped,

Not likely a prominence. These look like internal lens reflections or distortions of some kind, or something on the lens out of focus.
Kind of interesting though.
