Details:
What a fabulous show last night from Yellowknife, in Canadas Northwest Territories. Skies were very clear but the predicted maximum Kp was to be only 2. Despite that, the sky let loose several times after midnight with rapidly moving curtains and swirling coronal bursts at the zenith. Fringes of pink from nitrogen were visible at times to the eye and certainly to the cameras. Hundreds of aurora tourists are in town and all would have been very pleased with the performance last night. Ive rarely seen an auroral show as good. And this with a Kp of 2!

The panorama is from earlier in the evening as the arcs were developing in the twilight and rising from the north and east to overhead.
