Because Comet 46p is moving very quickly, even a short exposure shows drift and things are only going to get worse as it approaches earth next week.

So is it better to shoot several high ISO images and stack or shoot low ISO of long duration?

The image shows the following: Nikon d7100, Nikkor 180mm ED f/2.8 @ f/4: left: iso 800, 1x181s, center: iso 6400, 15x20s, right: iso 8960, 20x15s (all unprocessed). I think the center image is best for less noise.
