This is my first REAL attempt at capturing M42/NGC1977. I used Nikon D7000 on regular tripod

60 Darks

Processed is DSS and Photoshop.
This is my first attempt with post processing.

M42 is always a good object to start with as its easy to get some good results. Star clusters are fun also. You use a telephoto lens or a telescope for the picture?
Be careful and dont overdo the picture processing.

300mm lens. I am officially hooked on DSO astrophotography. I will be learning and executing better captures in the future.
