My friend José Luis Sanchez and me achieved a capture of Jupiter with a triple moon shadow transit, with no GRS but a great black surprise, we were expecting 3 black spots, but we were watching 4 ones, promise we were drinking only coffee and we both are able to count at least till four! we were expecting a faint Callisto instead of the spot at left and above, Please Help! can anyone give an explanation? thanks in advance. Details: 54 frames of 0.0312 sec. with newtonian 10 inches F5 SW, 3x barlow, Neq6 SW mount and Meade DSI pro III camera at prime focus.

Very simple. You have the three shadows but on the left the top dark blob is the relatively large moon Callisto. io is between the two shadows on the right but does not show up as it is too small and not so dark.

Thank you Paul, your explanation is very clear, I was waiting for a white Callisto and thought that the dark moon was a problem of the camera, thanks again, regards,

Im finding that Jupiters albedo (0.52) is lower than Ios albedo (0.62) and Europas albedo (0.68) but higher than Callistos albedo (0.19); this data supports Pauls explanation, mystery solved! thank you again Paul, clear skies!
