Details:
Around midnight only low near the northerly horizon, some nice NLC were visible. The situation changed in a very positive way during the next hours. Around 02.45 local time (0045 UTC) the display became more widespread, from Northwest to East. Around 04.00 hrs the display had risen to heights of 45 degrees above the horizon with a very well defined edge. Later even higher in the sky, up to 60 degrees above the horizon, thinner NLC were reflecting sunlight. The display was the finest in at least 3 years. The picture was taken at 0120 UTC (ISO 250, exposure 2.5 seconds).
