Details:
We had a superb showing of STEVE on Aug 7-8, over southern Alberta. As the main auroral arc to the north died down in activity from its Kp5 level, STEVE appeared, first in the east then extended across the sky overhead. He slowly drifted south and faded and was gone after about 40 minutes. The images show STEVE at the peak about 12:30 am MDT, with his green picket-fence fingers appearing briefly for about 2 minutes. The other image is of the main auroral arc earlier in the evening when the motion of the curtains was at its peak.
