Details:
By the time it got dark enough that stats had dropped a little but we still got a nice display, firstly appearing as a diffuse purple glow (on camera) at 18:23 UT (19:23 BST) there was still a twilight glow to the north west at that time. 9 minutes after some structure was starting to show. It continued to intensify to the point where the pillars could just about be seen with the naked eye, no colour evident in the pillars, at least not to my eyes, just a pale greyish hue, however the green auroral arc was quite prominent and the green colour was easy enough to see. The most intense activity was from around 19:44 local time until 20:18 but the diffuse purple glow and prominent green arc persisted for quite some time after, it was still visible when I took my last image at 21:27. The forecasted cloud started to build and the stats were dropping so we decided to call it a night
